Father's Day at Café Selmarie
Celebrate Father's Day at Café Selmarie, Sunday, June 20. Bring dad in for

 Chicago Reflections by Otto D'Olivo

There are in my photographs a love of Chicago and an allegiance to all photographers who influenced me, especially Strand, Weston, and Steichen. My first formal training in black and white was at the School of the Art Institute in the late 1960's. I began color photography as a result of a class at UIC in 2005.
I believe a photo has to go beyond being just a snapshot. I want my pictures to be compositions which are a result of line, light and dark, color, space, and objects that exist for visual order. My eye is attracted to images that dance in real sunlight and have a colorful palette. So as to have control over the finished product, I do all my own printing.
